This is mainly a maintenance release. I'm sorry I've not been releasing new versions more frequently during the past few weeks, but we have been busy with getting the release of our OpenLinux 1.3 out the door... NEWS: * Initial support for autoconf configure scripts. * Initial port to Solaris 2.x * Compiles with egcs. * Initial support for SGML rather than hacked up man/html output. To get a feel for what COAS can already do, invoke the `coastool' command. This will ultimately be the main COAS application. There are some other utilities (coas dump, coas change) which give you direct access to the coas database. I have attempted to provide documentation for this release; you can find an (incomplete) `Module Author's Guide' in /usr/doc/coas/mag.*, as well as a bunch of automatically generated manpages/htmlpages below /usr/share/coas. Some more documentation can be found in the source RPM below the doc directory. The RPMs themselves, as well as the plain tarballs, can be found at ftp://ftp.coas.org/pub For directions on building COAS, please see the file BUILDING in the top-level source directory. Cheers Olaf
