This free event will be the first ever function in Melbourne, held specifically to make business more aware of Linux. It will cover the background of Linux and Open Source, and it will also include an exhibit to show the state of the art of Linux and how it applies to business. The intended audience of this seminar is IT management, who may have read about Linux, and may want to learn more and see Linux perform. This event will also be the first Melbourne public showing of the latest version of Red Hat's Linux, version 5.2 which was officially announced on 2 November. In the exhibit, there will be on display some of the more significant recent commercial application releases for Linux, as well as the exciting Cobalt Qube, a turn-key, web-administered, Linux-powered server system. The exhibit will also feature examples of RAID technology running on Linux systems.
