I had a conversation yesterday with Jon Ball from Objectivity. I am not familiar with the DB, but their customers page looks quite impressive and deserves a look (http://www.objectivity.com). Anyway, Objectivity has a binding for VisualWorks under their old supported platforms and they have released a Linux port of the DB that currently only had a C++ binding. Jon was quite excited about the Linux market, since they released their port in response to a request from one large customer and they've been getting a lot of enquiries about it. I asked Jon when we could expect a VW3.0 binding for the Linux version of Obectivity, and Jon said, "It will be top priority as soon as ObjectShare goes commercial with their Linux port." So, might be something to think about. -pete > > Thanks!! > > Joseph Bacanskas > > Marten Feldtmann wrote: > > > In article <363959e6.26800456@news.nmia.com>, > > joconnor@roadrunner.com (Jay O'Connor) writes: > > > I think the problem is that you would be hard pressed to sell VW > > > commerically on Linux using the current ObjectShare pricing model.
