From: dep <dep@westnet.com> To: caldera-users@rim.caldera.com Subject: coming to you from col 2.2 Date: Fri, 23 Apr 1999 18:58:05 -0400 greetings! well, col 2.2 got here 2 1/2 hours ago, and i'm running on it now. not bad, considering that this included installing a new hard drive for it and reinstalling the old hard drive so as to copy /home over. the graphical install wasn't the easiest thing in the world, nor the worst; i'll try to get used to starting in runlevel 5, but i don't expect i'll like it. found one *major* bug for those who, like i, have a riva128 vid card with 8 megs. it lets you choose 24bpp, which is not supported, so X crashes. you have to run XF86Setup to get 32bpp. no sign of star office anywhere. weird. but better than i'd expected. which isn't to say that it's not going to be a busy weekend. -- dep__________________________________________________________________ 2000 is a number that breaks computers. 01-01-01 is when the millennium begins.
