ANNOUNCING ISE EIFFEL 4.5

SANTA BARBARA, CA - December 7, 1999 -- The latest version of the ISE Eiffel
development environment was released today by Interactive Software Engineering,
Inc (ISE).

Available as a free upgrade to existing Eiffel 4.4 users under maintenance,
ISE Eiffel 4.5 offers new features and optimized performance. It is a unique
product for all developers interested in reliability, scalability, flexibility,
and performance.

The next generation in sophisticated software development from ISE provides
the user with improvements in the EiffelBench compiler and development
environment such as an up to 10 times faster C compilation, with a finalization
from a precompiled system as fast as a finalization from scratch together with
many other optimizations. ISE Eiffel 4.5 features a major new release of the
EiffelCOM library on the client side, server side (to enable the user to produce 
COM applications from Eiffel), COM wizard and more. ISE Eiffel 4.5 also offers
recursive clusters where the user can specify `all' in Ace file and all
subdirectories will be compiled. It provides improved preferences tools, more
controls in the Windows Eiffel Library, improved C ANSI code generation,
especially for C++ compilation mode. 

Enhancements within EiffelBench for 4.5 include a new Eiffel parser completely
rewritten in Eiffel with no more length limitations in either the number of
generic parameters, the length of identifiers, the length of manifest string...
To complete the new 4.5 package, ISE has revised the manual for EiffelBench and
added new documentation available on line together with a complete Knowledge
Base.
