It will be called Dragon Linux. The alpha pre-release will be shown at the Singapore Linux Conference (http://slc.com.sg ) in March, and the beta version is planned to be shown at the Spring Comdex in Chicago in April. StarOffice (tm) (by SUN Microsystems) is included. A dedicated Chinese language website will provide online support for Dragon Linux. The Chinese implementation of easyLinux was done in close collaboration with RON's Datacom Ltd, a company which provides technical services for Open Source software in China. Started in 1995, it is the first company in China offering services for Linux; more information is available at http://www.rons.net.cn. easyLinux is the first Linux distribution conceived for the desktop. It features the quickest installation "at the speed of your mouse" (tm) - with 9 mouse clicks. easyLinux has pioneered graphical user interfaces for many OpenSource programs and users who already know Windows will quickly feel at home with it. easyLinux is X-Windows based and tightly integrates KDE. The Dragon Linux edition implements Chinese characters based on the Unicode standard. Dragon Linux uses the latest version of the Linux kernel and provides rich development environments for C/C++, Java, Perl and other scripting tools. Included are Apache web server and popular browsers, email clients and servers, and other Internet servers in a box. It also provides the easy to use system and network administration tools under GUI. Dragon Linux is based on easyLinux 2000 which is very advanced and works with all graphics adapters on the market. Easy Information Technology started development of easyLinux in 1997 in Germany. Today it has offices in Germany, USA and Singapore.
