Subject: [linux-usb] 2.4 USB Jobs list

If you develop or test USB drivers in Linux 2.3,
please give me (and the linux-usb mailing list)
some comments about what must or should be changed/fixed
for 2.4. Some prioritization would help.

I'm sure that I've omitted some items, so please
don't hesitate to add or correct what I have here.
Note that I'm not that interested in adding new
drivers, just improving on what we have now.

Here's my preliminary high-priority list:

1. All HCDs to have same interface, behavior, semantics.
2. HCD bulk queueing, timeouts.
3. CPiA camera drivers merged (USB and parport)
4. Mark {some | more} drivers as EXPERIMENTAL.
5. Make sure that bandwidth allocation is functional,
so that it prevents overcommits of the USB bus.

Here are some things that I would like to see:

a. More mass storage support, like
Flash cards, as well as support for the RBC commands.
b. More power management support.
c. Resolve the dueling UHCI HCDs.
d. Reduce the amount of console/debug output.
e. User docs for module auto-loading.

Thanks,
Randy
