From: rodgersg@us.ibm.com Subject: [ANNOUNCE] Linux boots on early POWER4 hardware To: linuxppc-announce@lists.linuxppc.org, linux-kernel@vger.rutgers.edu Date: Mon, 5 Jun 2000 14:03:19 -0500 The following is one of the original boot logs for Linux on a POWER4 microprocessor. Linux was ported to POWER4 at an IBM Lab in Austin Texas with the help of Paul Mackerras from Linuxcare. The port was done with pre-production hardware. As such, we are not showing BogoMIPS numbers at this time. General availability of POWER4 systems is expected in the second half of 2001.
