The preview is in the mpeg-1 format and can be downloaded at http://blur.cx/linux/ *The Evolution of Linux* explores the social, economic and political implications of free software. "It's a hyper-postmodern project," said film director Curtis Lee Fulton, "I take the superfluous sounds and images I encounter around the different environments of interview sights and rearrange them, distort them and fold them into the context of my subject, creating a new meaning." Fulton said that the post-modernism tone of the film is crucial to telling the story of Open Source correctly. "Open Source is inherently post-modern," said Fulton, "it was Larry Wall, the inventor of the Perl programming language that said, 'the open source movement is just another manifestation of the growing postmodernism of our culture.' That's one of the things I'm trying to illustrate with the film's style, is that open source is creating all sorts of new things, even though these new things are assembled from pieces we might have experienced before." *The Evolution of Linux* features interviews from GNU/Linux icons such as Eric Raymond, Richard Stallman, Tim O'Reilly and many others. The Film will be released under the terms of GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL).
