Linbox appoints Jean-Pierre Laisné president and chief executive


Paris, September 12, 2000 --Linbox, the inventor of Linbox Network
Architecture (LNA) and leading Linux Network Computer designer in Europe,
announced today the appointment of Jean-Pierre Laisné as its president and
chief executive officer.

The company has recently raised Euro 2.5 million in its first venture
capital round and is moving rapidly to develop and expand the Linux-based
network computing market where it enjoys a leading position in Europe.

Jean-Pierre Laisné brings to the company a wealth of experience in Linux
architecture and application development. A leading international authority
on Linux, Laisné has 15 years of experience managing the definition,
organization and implementation of information systems in different sectors
such as insurance and industry all around the world. He occupied several
positions with Pick Systems including technical director for Europe and
spend four years as Pick Systems' evangelist in Europe with missions
ranging from Madrid to Moscow. During this period, he converted many Pick
Systems VARs to Linux. Laisné also plays an international, proactive role
in the promotion of Linux and open source software, speaking at many
conferences. He is co-founder and a board member of the French-speaking
Linux Users' Association (AFUL).

Linbox Network Architecture to the fast growing Linux market," said
Jean-Pierre Laisné. "My objective is to make sure this happens through
partnerships with hardware and software vendors and distributors, by

the field - and by making the market aware of Linbox's advance over
competition, not only in Europe but throughout the world."

Linbox offers a range of solutions and professional services to schools,
small organisations and corporate networks looking for an affordable,
easy-to-install, easy-to-maintain network computing solution that is fully
compatible with legacy applications and operating systems. Linbox Network
Architecture is an open approach to Linux Network Computing based on
diskless standard computers on the desktop side (such as the Linbox Net
Station), and full featured servers (such as the Linbox Net Server).
