Geek Night Out

Australia is about to have its own festival gala for the Information Technology
community.

Events planned for the festival include live digital music from Clan Analogue,
laser harp video effects, linux based multi-player computer gaming, robot
demonstrations, live Web-casting including a Sydney performance played for the
Melbourne audience, and special guests.  We are very excited that Ka-ping Yee,
system administrator for Industrial Light and Magic (George Lucas' company), has
agreed to fly out for our geek festival.

Geek Night Out will be held in conjunction with ACE (Alternative Computing
Expo) 2000.  The two events were being developed independently, but upon
discovering the similarity in aims, chose to combine forces.  Geek Night Out
will be at the F1 Grand Prix Pit Lane, Aughtie Drive, Albert Park, starting at
7pm and ending 1am, Friday 20 October.  All tickets must be purchased by 10pm
