Rebel.com announces new president
Solly Patrontasch joins Rebel.com as President and Chief Operating Officer

Ottawa, Canada - October 17, 2000 - John Kelly, CEO of Rebel.com Inc., a
leading supplier of business networking technologies and solutions, today
announced the appointment of Solly Patrontasch as President and Chief
Operating Officer (COO).

"The opportunity was one that I just couldn't pass up," said Mr.
Patrontasch. "I have been given the chance to work with an excellent

exciting time for me!"

Michael Mansfield, former president of Rebel.com, will be assuming the role
of executive advisor, giving guidance to Mr. Patrontasch as well as other
members of the executive team. Mr. Mansfield will also focus on key business
relationships and continue as a member of Rebel.com's board of directors.

Solly Patrontasch joins Rebel.com after an extensive career with Andersen
Consulting. Most recently, Mr. Patrontasch was a partner in the Ottawa
office of Andersen Consulting, responsible for business development and the
delivery of large-scale integrated business solutions. He was a key member
of the executive management team, involved in many aspects of the firm.
During his sixteen years with Andersen Consulting, Mr. Patrontasch served
clients in Edmonton, Toronto and Ottawa.

Mr. Patrontasch was 1999 Campaign Chair for the United Way/Centraide of
Ottawa-Carleton. He led the campaign to the most successful achievement
ever, raising $16.2 million. Mr. Patrontasch is still an active member of
the United Way Board of Directors, and is also involved with several other
charitable organizations.
