Scientific Computing Associates To Distribute TurboLinux Clustering Products

New Haven, CT (October 6, 2000) - Scientific Computing Associates - experts
in parallel and distributed computing with more than two decades of
experience, today announced a strategic agreement with TurboLinux to support
and distribute the TurboLinux clustering products.

TurboLinux is a market leader in Linux clustering solutions with
award-winning products for high availability as well as high performance
parametric computing.

"The combination of Scientific Computing Associates and TurboLinux's
experiences creates a dynamic partnership that will be a winning combination
in promoting and supporting high performance computing solutions," said
Jerry Lipchus, Director of Sales for Scientific Computing Associates.

"Customers for high performance clustering solutions demand the highest
levels of service and expertise for their mission-critical applications,"
said Mike Duffy, Vice President of Global Enterprise Sales and Services for
TurboLinux. "SCA brings unmatched skills and experience in high performance
computing clusters to our partnership and together we can deliver our
customers the most complete solutions on the market."

EnFuzion from TurboLinux turns networks into high speed, fault tolerant,
highly available supercomputers. EnFuzion is based on a simple but powerful
concept called parametric execution. Parametric execution requires the same
application to be executed many times with different input data. Parametric
executions are ideally suited to run on large computing clusters. By using
clusters of dedicated servers or workstations, EnFuzion delivers the
accelerated performance for parametric problem solving. EnFuzion does not
require that users access or modify the source code for their applications.
No programming is required. Users easily create parallel jobs by using the
EnFuzion wizard.

Scientific Computing Associates' Linda® software is a set of powerful
extensions to C, C++, Fortran and Java that enables rapid development and
deployment of parallel applications. Linda® is a coordination language which
supplies the "glue" needed to cement many independent processes together
into a single parallel program. Linda® provides a Virtual Shared Memory
(VSM) that is logically shared by all the processes in a parallel program.
Linda® is easy to use, even for users who are new to parallel computing.
Proven applications include financial and risk analysis, computational
chemistry and biotechnology, seismic analysis, electronic design (EDA), and
computational fluid dynamics.

About Scientific Computing Associates, Inc.

Scientific Computing Associates was founded in 1980, and was a pioneer in
the then, brave new world of distributed computing. It was given birth by a
group of computer scientists who specialized in applying new ways of
thinking to interesting and challenging problems. Their years of research
and design in the area of distributed computing finally culminated in a new
model, a "Virtual Shared Memory" which was realized in the Linda® family of
products.

Scientific's products embody the functionality required to completely
satisfy those who actually build systems. It provides a powerful framework
for building distributed systems that meets the needs of your entire
organization and includes a comprehensive user interface geared for building
your industrial-strength applications. No sacrifices.

Scientific Computing Associates also provides training and system
development services for a broad range of high performance computing vendors
and users.
