A seasoned product marketing and management executive, Weinbrandt brings 14 years of experience launching, marketing and accelerating market share growth for server products from Dell Computers (NASDAQ: DELL), AT&T (NYSE: T), and AST Research. Weinbrandt is the second former Dell executive to join Penguin Computing in the past month. He is preceded by Marty Seyer, Penguin Computing's president and CEO, who held the position of director of product marketing at Dell before operating most recently as the vice president and general manager of the eBusiness and High Availability Server division at NCR. The two executives, together with the recent appointment of former Agilent executive John Page as chief financial officer, collectively bring over 60 years of proven leadership experience with well-known high-tech companies to the senior executive staff at Penguin Computing. Prior to joining Penguin Computing, Weinbrandt served with Dell for eight years in senior marketing executive roles for servers, enterprise systems, and storage products. During his tenure as Dell's North American director of brand marketing for its server and storage brands, Weinbrandt drove server market share from 2% to 20%, taking it to the number two market share position in the US. Most recently, Weinbrandt served as the director of marketing for the K-12 Education division and was also the director for Dell's Public Sector client brand marketing organization. During this period, Dell's K-12 Education division market share position moved from number three to number one, surpassing Compaq and Apple. Beyond eight years of experience with Dell, Weinbrandt has five years of experience operating in senior marketing management roles for server products at AT&T Global Information Solutions and at AST Research.
