Subject: Beta Release of System G
Los Angeles, Calif. March 2, 2001 - New Planet Software announces the beta
release of its System G utility software. As noted in a previous
announcement, this release applies New Planet's new licensing model.
System G provides an elegant, graphical interface to the Linux file system
that makes it easy to manipulate files and directories. Beta release 1 of
version 2.0.0 incorporates these exciting new features:
* Improved interface to file bindings and for running commands.
* Auto-mounting of disks when the associated directory is opened
* Format UNIX and DOS floppy disks.
* Move/copy files by dropping on iconified windows.
* Improved interface to trash can.
* Improved updating of directory contents when working over NFS.
* On-line help is now searchable.
* Support for European languages that even allows translation without
recompilation
* Works with Gnome and KDE session managers
This time-limited beta release is available free for testing at
