WORKSTATION, RELEASE 3.1
Next Generation of Calderas Award-winning eDesktop Product Unifies UNIX
and Linux Platforms

OREM, UTJune 26, 2001Caldera. International Inc. (Nasdaq: CALD), the
global leader Unifying UNIX. with Linux. for Business, announced
today its release of Caldera OpenLinux Workstation, release 3.1.  The
release of this product occurs simultaneously with Calderas OpenLinux
Server and Open UNIX 8 products.

The successor to the award-winning OpenLinux eDesktop 2.4, the
Workstation is a complete, self-hosted Linux-based operating system for
developers who wish to create commercial, Open Source, or corporate
applications for an open standard environment, including the proposed
Linux Standard Base (LSB), using Java, C and C++.  It enables developers

to create applications deployable on the thinnest of clients to high-end

data center servers.

Our new Workstation product is an ideal environment for developing on
Linux or developing for Linux-compatible platforms such as Calderas
Open UNIX 8, said Drew Spencer, chief technology officer at Caldera.
For the development lifecycle, it provides developers the necessary
tools to build, test and deploy business applications in a secure,
supported, and scalable server setting while developing in an easy to
use, developer-friendly environment.

Time and again, IDCs surveys show that one of the most important uses
of Linux is software development, said Dan Kusnetzky, vice president of

system software research for IDC.  Calderas work to provide a unified
environment for UNIX and Linux development would certainly be attractive

to developers.

Built on the Linux 2.4 kernel, Workstation features a completely
self-hosted environment, KDE 2.1, glibc 2.2.1, and XFree86 4.0.2.  In
addition, it incorporates SUN. Microsystems Java 2 Platform, Standard
Edition (J2SE) Software Development Kit version 1.3, StarOffice 5.2 and

Forte for Java, release 2.0, and  JBuilder 4 Foundation from Borland..

The Workstation functions as an integrated client for all Caldera server

offerings OpenLinux Server, Open UNIX and OpenServer and includes
the Caldera. Volution management agent.  In addition, the product
includes a 60-day subscription to Caldera. Volution Online, Calderas
new online management solution, and 60-day email installation support.
Further, Workstation is the main technology for Calderas Developer
Products and Services business line and is the base component Calderas
Professional Services uses to deliver specialized Linux-based client
platforms for OEMs, Internet devices and thin clients.

 The suggested price for single licenses to Calderas OpenLinux
Workstation with Support is $99, and licenses to Calderas OpenLinux
Workstation are $59 each.  Both product lines include a 60-day Caldera
Volution Online subscription.
