HOOPS Net Server now available for FREE Personal Use on LINUX

“Free 3D for Linux” program expanded to include latest HOOPS offering
Oakland, CA ¾ June 26, 2001¾ Tech Soft America (TSA), the leading provider
of core graphics component technology to the CAD/CAM/CAE industry, today
announced their innovative HOOPS Net Server (HOOPS/Net) component will be
made available for free personal use on the Linux platform. This move
incorporates the latest offering in the HOOPS Product Suite into TSA’s “Free
3D for Linux” program, launched at the beginning of last year. The program
is designed to promote the development of advanced 3D applications on Linux,
and the royalty-free proliferation of HOOPS-based, non-commercial
applications.

"TSA's Free 3D for Linux program enabled me to quickly and inexpensively
develop a sophisticated prototype which I was able to show to management to
get a new project approved. This Linux program allows developers to work on
applications, without any upfront fees so they can learn, experiment, and
innovate. I think the addition of the HOOPS Net Server will be great for
Linux developers looking to create client-server or real-time collaborative
software applications. I'm excited about the prospects and expect to utilize
the HOOPS Net Server to prototype a web-enabled version of the
aforementioned application." Stated Terje Andreassen, Software Engineer,
Logicon, Inc. a Northrop Grumman Co.

Gavin Bridgeman, Co-Founder and Lead Consulting Engineer for TSA commented,
“Our company was started by software developers and our entire focus is to
aid developers in realizing advanced applications in the shortest time
possible. As such, we are excited by the potential of the Linux development
community to create powerful new applications with our tools and wish to
offer fuel to the Linux revolution by putting collaboration tools in the
hands of talented, innovative developers.”

About HOOPS Net Server

HOOPS/Net is a standalone component designed to help engineering software
developers add real-time collaborative functionality to existing products or
develop new client-server based products.. Major features of HOOPS/Net
include session-control management, platform and network-protocol
independence (TCP/IP or HTTP), ease of configuration and customization,
network reliability management and late join functionality. HOOPS/Net also
comes with a source-code level reference implementation, which demonstrates
a view/mark-up application, including customization extensions to the
server. HOOPS/Net is fully integrated with TSA’s HOOPS 3D Application
Framework (HOOPS/3dAF) and HOOPS Stream Toolkit (HOOPS/Stream) to further
facilitate the development of powerful 3D applications.
