Trustix Software Technologies Now Available on IBM S390 Mainframes Trondheim, June 27, 2001 - Engineers from Trustix and IBM have completed the porting of Trustix XPloy system management solution to the IBM S390 Linux platform. Trustix' core technology for Linux systems management is now fully implemented on one of the most popular and stable main-frame platforms in today's market, IBM's S390 series. It is IBM in Boeblingen in Germany that has provided adequate hardware and locations necessary for completing the porting. The engineers from Trustix have been working with engineers at IBM's laboratory in Boeblingen to complete and verify the porting of Trustix XPloy. The porting of Trustix XPloy to IBM's S390 series verifies the functionality and advantages provided by the Trustix technology on the S390 platform equal to those on the Intel x86 platform. Trustix systems management solutions on the S390 gives the customers a scalable and performant platform for managing hundreds or thousands of high throughput, high performing Linux services, like Apache web servers or Squid proxy servers. Managed by XPloy, these services are now easier to use and faster to reconfigure. The graphical and easy-to-use management console can be run on a MS Windows, Linux or S390 platform. Trustix XPloy is now used to demonstrate systems management of Linux on the S390 by IBM Boeblingen. "We believe that the IBM S390 is a very interesting Linux platform, and we are very satisfied with this cooperation with IBM porting our systems management solutions to this Linux mainframe platform," says Trustix CEO Havard Wollan.
