RidgeRun™ Appoints Cisco Executive, Peter Alexander, to Board of Directors Boise, ID - July 9, 2001 - RidgeRun, Inc., a leading developer of embedded Linux® software and tools for appliances using digital signal processing (DSP) components, announced today that Peter Alexander, an executive at Cisco Systems, Inc., has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Alexander is currently Vice President, Marketing and Operations of Internet Systems Business Unit, which includes the company’s Catalyst® 6000 Family of switches and Cisco 7000 series routers. “We are extremely pleased to have Peter join the RidgeRun board at this exciting time for our business,” said Rudy Prince, RidgeRun Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “At Cisco, Peter is well recognized for his strategic vision and has built a reputation as one of the leading industry spokespersons on the future of the Internet and convergence. Mr. Alexander joined Cisco in 1996 when it acquired StrataCom, Inc., where he was Executive Director of Enterprise Marketing. Prior to StrataCom, Mr. Alexander held positions as Director of Sales and Operations in the Asia/Pacific region for Republic Telecom Systems as well as a variety of engineering and management positions at Entropic Speech, Inc. and ROLM Corporation. Mr. Alexander is an associate member of the British Institute of Electrical Engineers, and holds an M.B.A. degree from the University of California – Berkeley and a B.Eng.
