From: Guillaume Cottenceau <gc@mandrakesoft.com> To: Forrest Cook <lwn@lwn.net> Subject: Suggestion for LWN's "Development Projects" section Date: 14 Aug 2001 14:01:09 +0200 Cc: pleac-discuss@lists.sourceforge.net Hi, I'd like to introduce a rather new programming language project, PLEAC (Programming Language Examples Alike Cookbook), that you can find here: http://pleac.sourceforge.net/ The PLEAC project aims at re-implementing the solutions presented in the Perl Cookbook (by Tom Christiansen & Nathan Torkington, published by O'Reilly) in other programming languages. If successful, this project may become a primary resource for quick, handy, and free solutions to most common programming problems using higher-level programming languages. It could also be useful for comparison on ease-of-use and power/efficiency of these languages. (there is a fresmeat entry at http://freshmeat.net/projects/pleac) If you find this project valuable and useful for the community, please feel free to add a few lines on it in next LWN's "Development projects" section :-). Thanks for your attention. -- Guillaume Cottenceau - http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~gc/
