FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

REDSonic to Demonstrate its Compatibility with the
Industrial Control and Automation Industry at ISA

SANTA ANA, Calif., - September 5, 2001 - REDSonic, Inc., a leader in
real-time Linux solutions for the embedded market, today announced it will be
exhibiting at the upcoming Instrumentation, Systems and Automation (ISA)
Conference in Houston, Texas from September 10-13, 2001.

REDSonic is expanding into the industrial control and automation market, as
seen by its recent partnership with Red Flag to offer REDSonic's real-time
Linux solutions for the industrial control market in China. The company sees
its technology as ideal for automation projects because of the level of
predictability automation and control systems require. "REDICE-Linux™, our
real-time Linux kernel, not only provides the predictable and deterministic
behavior that these projects demand, but it also delivers a flexible
scheduling framework," commented Andrew Chen, CTO at REDSonic.

REDSonic is branching out into the control automation industry also because
of the fact that many control automation systems are embedded systems. "We
concentrate on the embedded market, and are able to provide top-of-the-line
development tools, support, and embedded system expertise to organizations
for their specific projects," stated Chen.

At ISA, REDSonic will be showing the four new demonstrations that debuted at
LinuxWorld Expo and Conference in San Francisco in August. These four new
demonstrations are REDSonic's newest products and are as follows:
·	Secure SOHO - REDSonic's new gateway and firewall software, designed to
protect individual systems and local area networks that connect to the public
Internet via a single connection
·	LinuxBIOS - ROM-based Linux kernel that replaces legacy BIOS code for
reliable, secure, fast boot, and rapid power-on solutions; ideal for systems
that require instant-on and instant-shutdown capabilities that are common in
many automation applications
·	REDSonic PowerPC (MPC 823) Starter Kit - Demonstrates predictable and
controlled CPU resource allocation with rate monotonic scheduling in the
REDICE-Linux SDK on the new low cost PowerPC 823 starter SBC kit
·	Windows-Based Terminal (WBT) - Provides thin-client Linux-based access to
Microsoft® Windows® applications and services and lowers total cost of
management and ownership; ideal for application service providers (ASPs),
telecommuting, remote login and administration

REDSonic will also demonstrate new features for RED-Builder™, the company's
easy-to-use graphical tool that enables developers to customize, configure,
and build embedded systems. "The platform editor, one of the new RED-Builder
features, gives developers the ability to build their own applications on any
board, making RED-Builder one of the most user-friendly embedded Linux tools
on the market today," commented Chen.
