OpenNMS 0.8.1 has been released to the FTP and web site at

  ftp://ftp.opennms.org/pub/releases/latest/ on
  http://www.opennms.org/files/releases/latest/

Like earlier releases, you can install on RedHat 6 and 7, and
Mandrake 7 and 8, using the lynx installer. Open up a terminal
as root, and run: 

   lynx -source http://install.opennms.org/stable | sh

Note that the quick start guide has been updated, please check
it for instructions on getting OpenNMS installed and configured
for the first time. 

The changes from 0.8.0 are as follows:

- icmpd replaced by JNI native interface
- some small configuration file tweaks
- better IP handling in capsd
- DHCP poller updates
- notification bugfixes
- small event updates
- updated configurable categories in the Web UI
- changed scheduler VMs for smaller memory usage (scmconfig.xml)
