In the next couple of weeks, SavaJe Technologies (www.savaje.com), a
Boston-based start-up, will launch SavaJe XE. SavaJe XE is a
Java-optimized OS for ARM-based devices. First previewed at JavaOne in
June of this year, SavaJe XE provides vendors of embedded systems, as
well as appliance and smart handheld device manufacturers, with a way to
run full Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE as opposed to J2ME) apps on these
resource-constrained machines.

In advance of the rollout of this new OS, today SavaJe announces that
several leading vendors in the wireless, mobile application deployment
and Java developer tools markets have signed up to develop products
on/for this unique Java OS.

SAVAJE TECHNOLOGIES LAUNCHES PARTNER PROGRAM FOR TECHNOLOGY VENDORS,
SYSTEM INTEGRATORS AND SOLUTION PROVIDERS

Major Vendors Join Program to Provide Enterprise Applications to Mobile
Workers

NORTH CHELMSFORD, MA--September 17, 2001--SavaJe Technologies today
announced the formation of the SavaJe Partner Program. Application
vendors, technology providers, hardware manufacturers, systems
integrators and solution providers are partnering with SavaJe through the
SavaJe Partner Program to provide customers with a full complement of
Java(TM) 2, Standard Edition (J2SE(TM)) mobile enterprise services and
solutions based on the SavaJe XE(TM) operating system. Currently in the
final phase of an open beta program and scheduled for release in October,
SavaJe XE is a new operating system that enables, for the first time,
J2ME CDC and J2SE applications to run efficiently on resource-constrained
devices such as the Compaq iPAQ handheld computer.

"The establishment of the SavaJe Partner Program demonstrates our
commitment to deliver a wide range of J2SE based mobile applications,
services and solutions to customers," said Lead Wey, senior vice
president of business development at SavaJe Technologies. "Partners who
join the SavaJe Partner Program will broaden the reach and penetration of
SavaJe XE by delivering solutions into key vertical markets such as
entertainment, financial, government, healthcare, retail,
telecommunications and transportation. We intend to provide the necessary
resources and support to ensure that our partners succeed in offering the
best mobile J2SE applications and solutions based on SavaJe XE."

To ensure high quality of solutions delivered using SavaJe XE, technology
partners, including application vendors and device manufacturers, must
subject their technology to a certification process. System integrators
and solution providers that make up SavaJe's reseller channels may join
as Silver or Gold partners and receive additional technical, joint
marketing and sales support.

Companies who have already joined the SavaJe Partner Program include
Espial, ION Systems, LOOX Software, NetClue, Nexien, Nivis, Open Source
Asia, Parochus Software, Passport Corporation, PointBase and
ThinkFree.com.

"Since 1990, Passport has been providing highly scalable, secure and
robust enterprise and field force automation solutions to the
telecommunications and financial services industries. As our customers
demand more dynamic wireless solutions, we began looking for a mobile
Java platform that supports J2SE," said Alan Tonnesen, president and CEO
of Passport Corporation. "In our search we identified SavaJe as the only
commercially available solution that met our needs. Through SavaJe's
partner program Passport has had access to necessary resources and
support to develop and deploy Passport Wireless, our new enterprise
wireless product offering." [Note to editors: please see separate press
release issued by Passport today for more details on Passport Wireless.]
