Alta Terra appoints Kudzu Enterprises
as new Distributor

Edmonton, Alberta - October 3, 2001 - Alta Terra Ventures Corp. (ATT on
CDNX) announced today that it has appointed Kudzu Enterprises LLC of
Minneapolis, MN, to act as its primary software title distributor in the
United States. Kudzu was established to serve as a North American Linux and
Unix software distributor. Kudzu already services the largest network of
Linux and Unix resellers in the United States, and is steadily adding new
and significant resellers to its distribution network. 

"We are quite excited about the BearOps Linux product line," stated Darren
Finnamore, Kudzu's President. "Having a range of titles from the same
developer is going to be very attractive to resellers. They are planning a
spectrum of products that should appeal to a wide variety of resellers and
