Eastmont.net announces three free Linux classes. RedHat 7.1 Linux Classes Eastmont Town Center 7200 Bancroft Suite 209 Oakland, CA 94605 510-382-0555 Eastmont Computing Center is proud to announce three RedHat 7.1 Linux Classes: A. Introduction to Redhat 7.1 (administration) for Fall 2001 B. Linux Professional Institute Certification Class 1 for Winter 2002 C. Advanced Web/Database Programming on RedHat 7.1 for Winter 2002 using Perl, Apache, and PostgreSQL. These classes will hold at least 8 students. If you have questions about the content of the classes, please send email to eastmont@tcu-inc.com. These are not official Redhat 7.1 classes, but classes based on RedHat 7.1. Description of Classes: A. Introduction to Redhat 7.1 (administration) is designed for people who want to learn the guts of the operating system and how to use the XWindows environment. Assignments will be given and RedHat 7.1 must be installed at a computer at home by the second class. B. Linux Professional Institute Certification Class 1 is designed for students who wish to pass the LPI Exams described at www.lpi.org. Classes will be centered on the material located at http://rute.sourceforge.net/. Assignments will be given and RedHat 7.1 must be installed at a computer at home. Prior understanding of RedHat 7.1 is required. Students must have a basic understanding of how to use BASH commands, install the operating system, setup hardware, and administrate the computer. Students must feel comfortable with the material located at http://rute.sourceforge.net. C. Advanced Web/Database Programming on RedHat 7.1 is designed for the serious programmer who wishes to learn everything about web programming and database programming. Assignments will be given and RedHat 7.1 must be installed at a computer at home by the second class. Prior programming experience is required. Windows or Macintosh understanding is required.
