Subject: [Ganymede Announce] New Ganymede mailing lists

I have created a pair of new mailing lists to supplement/supplant the
existing "Ganymede Discussion" list, ganymede@arlut.utexas.edu.

The two new lists are

 ganymede-dev@arlut.utexas.edu

and

 ganymede-help@arlut.utexas.edu

The ganymede-dev list is designed to be a place for complete, in-depth
technical discussions of the Ganymede network directory management
software.  My hope is that people will over time use this list for
extensive discussions about specific bugs, misfeatures, and code
patches for Ganymede.  This list is for people who are interested in
actually hacking the Ganymede code, developing schema kits, and the
like.  No code excerpt is too long, no bug is too small to be
discussed to death on this list.

The ganymede-help list is designed to be an address for people to send
"help me!" questions to, so that answers to those questions can be
archived for posterity.  General Ganymede installation and use
questions can and should be sent to this address.

All users who were subscribed to the primary "Ganymede Discussion"
list at ganymede@arlut.utexas.edu have been subscribed to the
ganymede-dev list.  The ganymede-help list is starting from scratch
with no users subscribed.

Users interested in unsubscribing from the ganymede-dev list can
send an email with the line

	unsubscribe ganymede-dev

in the body of the message.

Users wishing to subscribe to the ganymede-help list can send an
email with the line

	subscribe ganymede-help

in the body of the message.

The existing ganymede@arlut.utexas.edu list will be maintained for
awhile, but will probably be taken down at some point in favor of the
two new lists.
