LEVEL 2 AVAILABLE ! 2. Level 2 Beta 3. Linux Journal award 4. The Japanese Market 5. Linux World, Frankfurt - Comdex, Las Vegas - ALS, California 6. Volunteers of the Month 7. Objectives for Level 1 and 2 1. LEVEL 2 IS NOW AVAILABLE AT ALL VUE LOCATIONS. LPI has now developed the second level of exams and these are now published. Details on this process can be found here; http://www.lpi.org/c-process.html Now that the exams are Live and available at all Vue locations, you can take both Level 1 exams (101 and 102) and both Level 2 exams (201 and 202) - http://www.vue.com/lpi Each exam is $100 US. Please ensure you have passed both the Level 1 exams - anyone taking the Level 2 first, will have their Level 2 certificate held, until Level 1 is completed. 2. LEVEL 2 BETA IS OVER! Beta Results are available, and are being e-mailed to candidates. Any candidates who passed the Level 2 exams, and are already Level 1 certified, will receive a Level 2 certificate within the next few weeks. Congratulations to all Level 2 graduates. 3. Linux Journal Award. Linux Journal this month posted their awards list and Linux Professional Institute was recognized for their work in certification. Linux Journal has awarded LPI the 2001 Editor's Choice for "Best Training and Certification". LPI-Japan - Level 2 The Japanese translation of Level 2 is almost complete. We hope to release the translated Level 2 to the Japanese market within the next few days. We are also looking at other translations, and hope to offer other translated exams some time later next year. 5. LPI at Comdex, ALS, and LinuxWorld Frankfurt. It has been a busy month for LPI going to the shows in Las Vegas, California and Frankfurt. We thank those who came to help out at the various shows, and to those who came by the booths to say hello and speak to our representatives. Volunteers of the month; As a non-profit organization, we are always looking for assistance at shows and spreading the word about LPI. This month we are pleased to recognize Florian Kalhammer and Martin Krafft for ably assisting Torsten Scheck at the Frankfurt show. Martin F. Krafft is a computer science student, who is active at the lpi-discuss mailing list.
