MontaVista Software Establishes Presence in Taiwan
New Distribution Channel Expands MontaVista¹s Reach in Asia

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 5, 2002 ‹ MontaVista Software Inc., the company
powering the embedded revolution, and Master Integrated Appliances Co., Ltd.
(MasterIA), an information appliance design service provider located in
Taipei, have joined forces to distribute and support MontaVista Software
products in Taiwan.

Under the terms of the agreement, MasterIA will distribute the full range of
MontaVista solutions, including MontaVista� Linux®, MontaVista High
Availability Framework, VisualAge® Micro Edition for MontaVista Linux,
Qt/Embedded� for MontaVista Linux and MontaVista Graphics. MasterIA will
also provide technical support for embedded developers in Taiwan.

³Taiwan is an important market and distributors such as MasterIA will
accelerate the penetration of MontaVista Linux among embedded developers in
Asia,² said Raymond Mak, vice president of Asia Pacific sales for
MontaVista. ³MasterIA has the required resources, including experienced and

MasterIA was founded in January 2000 and is currently focused on the
information appliances market. With this new partnership, MasterIA will also
be able to aggressively expand into the Taiwanese telecom and datacom
arenas. MontaVista has targeted these three markets as having the most
