This is a major release that has been ported to a new platform, OpenBSD/x86. This version features several changes including significant performance enhancements, support for hierarchical packages, auto-loading of logical pathname translations, better Gray streams support, facilities for adding clean-up and advanced command processing capabilities for user input, better module management capabilities, debugger enhancements, improvements to disassembly listings, and numerous ANSI compliance fixes and bug fixes. CMUCL is a public domain, mostly ANSI compliant implementation of the Common Lisp language which runs on most Unix systems. It provides a sophisticated native code compiler, debugging and profiling utilities, an Emacs-like editor written in Common Lisp, Xlib and Motif bindings, and more.
