From: Andreas Gruenbacher <ag@bestbits.at> To: <acl-devel@bestbits.at> Subject: [Acl-Devel] Version 0.8.26 released Date: Wed, 24 Apr 2002 12:03:02 +0200 (CEST) Hello, The kernel patches, acl and attr packages have been updated. The following things have changed: - Support for the sparc64 architecture in the kernel patches. - Update of the acl and attr packages to the latest CVS versions. There were several minor fixes in the acl and attr packages. - Disallow extended user attributes for directories with the sticky bit set. This synchronizes the permission model with XFS. See the updated attr(5) manual page. The following things were fixed in the kernel patches: - Temporary fix for the reported kernel nfsd lock-ups. I still need to verify this fixes the bug correctly. - Fix type umode_t vs. mode_t mismatches. This affects the sparc64, ppc, mips, and s390x architectures. Please see the change logs for details. RECOMMENDATION TO UPGRADE Please upgrade the kernel patches if you are using one of the following architectures: sparc64, ppc, mips, s390x. Please upgrade the ACL utilities on all 64-bit architectures. Please upgrade the ACL kernel patches if you are using the kernel nfs daemon, and test whether the lock-up problems are fixed.
