From: Andreas Gruenbacher <ag@bestbits.at> To: <acl-devel@bestbits.at> Subject: [Acl-Devel] Version 0.8.27: Fixes in the ACL kernel patches Date: Sat, 18 May 2002 00:24:55 +0200 (CEST) Hello, version 0.8.27 of the ACL kernel patches has been released. The other patches and packages have not changed. It has turned out that version 0.8.26 of the ACL kernel patches contains a bug that sometimes causes the file type of inodes to get corrupted. Sorry; this bug has somehow slipped regression testing. The interaction of ACLs and the kernel NFS daemon also was still buggy. We have yet to see if all the problems (lockups) with the NFS daemon are solved now. Please see the kernel change log <http://acl.bestbits.at/ChangeLog.kernel> for the detailed changes. Many thanks to Robert Holzwarth <Robert.Holzwarth@3SOFT.de>, Mike Pain <mtp@blaby.gov.uk> and others on the list for reporting these bugs. RECOMMENDATION TO UPGRADE It is recommended to upgrade to 0.8.27 immediately if you are currently running 0.8.26, or you are running both ACLs and the kernel NFS daemon.
