I thought I'll hear something like "no demand", "we don't plan to this in the near future",etc.. I was wrong. He told me that they hired someone which will start to work on June 1st on porting Display doctor to Linux and it will have these features: 1. Some sort of SVGAlib (including Vesa 3.0 modes) to All graphics cards they supported today (thats including the NeoMagic, Matrox, etc...) 2. Special version of Xserver fully accelerated to all of the cards (again - also to NeoMagic, Matrox, etc...) 3. A library that you can start writing some games, emulators etc for using on an enviroment just like SVGAlib today, with all the modes, resolutions etc.. 4. Support for GGI libraries and functions. Now here is the best part: Just like they're DOS/Windows version, there will be a 21 days trial version, and a commercial version for 54.95$! - So you don't need to buy from X inside a 400$ X server for Notebooks or 200$ for X server for Desktop machine. One more thing: the port will include a superset instructions for 3D Accelerations (thats they're MGL product) that will be included in they're Display doctor for Linux. Product will be available probably in October or November. Sincerely yours, Hetz Benhamou Tel Aviv, Israel
