From: mann@src.dec.com (Tim Mann) Subject: xtrs version 2.0 - TRS-80 emulator Date: Tue, 26 May 1998 14:06:44 GMT -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- You can now get xtrs version 2.0, a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model I/III/4 emulator for Unix and the X Window System, from my TRS-80 Web page: http://www.research.digital.com/SRC/personal/Tim_Mann/trs80.html I've added several major features to the original xtrs 1.0 by David Gingold and Alec Wolman. The original xtrs emulated a Model I with cassette, 48KB of memory, and an uppercase-only display. xtrs 2.0 can emulate either a Model I, Model III, Model 4, or Model 4P, and it includes lower case, the real time clock, crude sound support (Linux only), emulated 5" and 8" floppy disk drives, and even emulated hard disk drives. Unlike most Model I emulators, xtrs 2.0 supports double sided, double density floppies, emulating both the Percom and Radio Shack Doubler. The emulated floppy and hard disk file formats are compatible with the popular MSDOS-based emulators by Jeff Vavasour and Matthew Reed. Under Linux, physical floppy disk drives are also supported. The user interface is a bit spartan, but it gets the job done. - -- Tim Mann <mann@pa.dec.com> http://www.research.digital.com/SRC/personal/Tim_Mann/ - -- Tim Mann <mann@pa.dec.com> http://www.research.digital.com/SRC/personal/Tim_Mann/ - -- This article has been digitally signed by the moderator, using PGP. http://www.iki.fi/mjr/cola-public-key.asc has PGP key for validating signature.
