I am interested in setting up a Linux User Group in Alice Springs.  As
far as I know, none exists in the entire Northern Territory and I think
it's about time we had one.

If you are interested in being part of a group in Alice Springs, please

The aims for a Linux User Group would be

Support :  to existing and potential Linux users
Advocacy : Advocate the use and benefits of Open Source software (incl.
Linux of course)
Education :  Help users along the initial sep learning curve,  to
self-sufficiency and on toward being able to provide support to other
users.
Have Fun : Yes!.  Linux puts fun back into computing.  It would be great
to meet and socialize with other Linux users in Alice Springs!.

All sorts of possibilities exist once a group of like-minded people get
together.

It's early days yet and I have no idea where we would meet *but* I just
know someone out there has a suitable meeting place with an overhead
SVGA projector just waiting to be used ;-)
