As I had mentioned to Ken, I've ran 4.2 and 5.1 with similar success. The only problem I experience is that the X server at times will barf and jump to 90+%, needing a reboot to solve the problem. The problem is intermittent and doesn't happen if I log out of an X session frequently. As far as installs, I've installed on these systems many times for various testing purposes and have never had an install problem other than the lack of disk space. The systems I use are 100% Sun. They all have 64MB RAM except for one which has 32MB. The latest PROM version is 2.6 with the newest being 2.9. Whether any of this makes any difference I couldn't say. It certainly couldn't hurt. A couple of the SS2's became Linux because they couldn't be Jumpstarted anymore (because of the Weitek's). The consensus at work is that the Weitek is problematic. I tried Linux to see if it could breath life into these SS2's and it did. I don't know how much light this may shed on the problems everyone has been experiencing but I hope it is a start. -- Scott Gibson wsgibson@sprynet.com -- To unsubscribe: mail -s unsubscribe sparc-list-request@redhat.com < /dev/null
