This is just a suggestion and any corrections, opinions regarding the size and other comments are welcome. Hope this is usefule. (Sorry -- no SGML) Note: For ARC and AlphaBios systems it is necessary to have a small DOS partition as the first partition on the first hard drive. Creating this partition and copying milo and linload should be done in the setup program. I dont know how this is handled for other systems (SRM). Guenter Configuring AlphaBios(TM) to Boot the Debian Rescue Disk ======================================================== This paragraph describes the steps which are to be taken in order to boot from the Debian boot floppy with an AlphaBios Console. When turned on, the Computer starts with the system check. This will take a few seconds until you are prompted to select the Boot Operating System. Press F2 in order to get into BIOS setup mode. - With the Cursor keys select "Utilities->OS Selection Setup". - Press the INSERT key to add a new operating system setup. - Enter a boot name for the new OS ("Linux Rescue" for example). - In the Boot File line set A: as boot drive and linload.exe as boot file. - The OS Path line is irrelevant an is not used when booting Debian.
