Subject: A Python Consortium?

At the 6th Python conference, held October 1997 San Jose, the plan was
born to create a Python Consortium.  This consortium would undertake
Python development work funded by contributing members.  CNRI is
willing to host the Python Consortium and has produced a draft
agreement for consortium members.

The Python Consortium does not yet exist, but we invite organizations
(companies, universities, research labs, etc.) to join.  For more
information, please refer to the temporary Python Consortium web
pages:

	http://www.python.org/consortium/

(Corporate PSA members have already been invited via personal email,
but they may find web access to the consortium documents more
convenient than email attachments. :-)
