I was approached by a Motorola rep at a recent trade show who proposed
selling us ATX-form-factor motherboards for PowerPC-based Linux
machines. I told him that I didn't see the market, that our high-end
scientific customers were buying Alphas for that 64-bit performance
and the rest were happy with Intel, but I'd look into it and see if I
could come up with something that'd make the guys in the front office
happy.

So: Am I wrong when I say there's no market for custom Linux computers
based on the PowerPC processor? 

I assume he is talking about the MTX MB for embedded use, that has
SCSI, video, and network card all on board. Was he blowing smoke when
he said this thing would run Linux?
