	    BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 1998--In a move that
once again raises the VPN bar, Compatible Systems Corporation today
announced an eight-slot version of its IntraPort Enterprise VPN Access
Server, offering support for up to 40,000 simultaneous client
connections -- the largest capacity of any VPN Access Server in the
marketplace.
The new IntraPort Enterprise-8 delivers scalability and extreme
capacity for large networks.
A standalone VPN solution, the IntraPort Enterprise-8 provides
secure IPSec-based remote access and LAN-to-LAN connectivity, with
full VPN routing capabilities, for enterprise networks that operate in
mixed server and client environments. The IntraPort Enterprise-8 is
the flagship product of the IntraPort VPN Access Server family, the
most extensive VPN product line available today.
"With the new Enterprise-8 VPN server, Compatible’s range of VPN
solutions is unmatched in the industry," said Matt McConnell,
president and CEO of Compatible Systems.
"The IntraPort family offers the right solution for every
customer, from an entry-level VPN access server for small offices and
workgroups, to the largest VPN server available. Our customers know
that whatever choice they make is built on a solid foundation of
secure and cost-effective connectivity."
"The one-size-fits-all philosophy has never applied to networking
at any level," said Michael Howard, CEO of Infonetics Research
Corporation. "Compatible Systems has done a good job of developing a
baseline technology with deployment options that make VPN affordable
and functional for businesses of any size."

	    The IntraPort Enterprise-8

The IntraPort Enterprise-8 is designed for large organizations as
the anchor to an enterprise-wide VPN. The product features an 8-slot
hot-swappable chassis with three I/O board options. Each board
includes a StrongARM(TM) RISC(R) processor (233 MHz) and a PCI-based
Triple DES co-processor for wire-speed throughput.
Two 10/100 Ethernet ports allow for operation behind or in
parallel with an existing firewall. Each I/O card supports up to 5,000
simultaneous remote client connections and up to 64 LAN-to-LAN
connections. The IntraPort Enterprise-8 also includes all the standard
functionality found in every IntraPort product (see below).

	    The IntraPort Family

The IntraPort family of VPN Access Servers provides
Internet-based remote access and LAN-to-LAN solutions ranging in size
from eight simultaneous tunnels to more than 40,000 simultaneous
tunnels. All IntraPort products feature:

	    VPN Technology

VPN technology allows companies to construct private data
networks using the public Internet as a secure wide-area backbone. By
deploying VPNs, IT managers can realize savings of up to 80% on long
distance and other telco charges, eliminate administration-intensive
remote access servers and modem banks and outsource many user support
functions to Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

	    Pricing and Availability

The IntraPort Enterprise-8 will be available in Q4, 1998. Pricing
is as follows:
