Tcl Blend is a Tcl Extension that allows you to have access to the Java VM from inside a Tcl interpreter. What is this software good for? Quick prototype of Java application without writing and compiling lots of Java code. Combining low level Java components using high level scripting, similar to the way Visual Basic is used in Windows applications. Creating regression tests for Java code. Adding a "macro language" to an existing Java application. Where did this software come from? The original 1.0 version began as a research project at Sun labs. It has now been picked up by independent Java developers and scriptics (www.scriptics.com) has agreed to host the project by providing web, cvs, and ftp space on their servers. What is new in the 1.1 version? Support for the JDK 1.2. Improved Java method invocation system. Who do I contact with questions?
