In pursuit of my original proposal, which is that we pursue crypto development by the legal though awkward means that are available to us, I've created a majordomo list, linux-crypto@waste.org. The purpose of this list will be to develop the tools needed to have international cooperation in this arena, probably starting with the use of postal mail to email gateways. This should not be problematic for US residents at least as it's already being used by the PGP community. Chris says that we should work to change the laws rather than exploiting loopholes. My feeling is that the laws are rapidly moving away from crypto and the sooner it is made widely available and easy to use the sooner we have a chance of reversing that trend. The sooner we get the genie out of the bottle, the better. -- "Love the dolphins," she advised him.
