PortsThe ports section will be going away in future editions of the Linux Weekly News. Filling this section has been hard at times, and most of the port related news fits just as well in the kernel, development, distributions, or commerce sections. We will not stop covering non-Intel Linux; the news will just be found in other sections. SparcAde Rixon has published a lengthy document describing his experience with, and evaluation of S/Linux. This document (also available in PostScript), is clearly the result of a lot of work. The overall evaluation seems to be that Linux for the Sparc is not quite yet ready.AlphaApplixware for the Alpha has been announced. See their press release for more.
