Subject: Community: EULUG project

Hi,

The European Universities' Linux User Groups project is mainly about
bringing the (often very) different LUGs from European universities,
hochschule and technical schools together in order to:

o Help eachother out on projects and technical trouble.

o Strengthening the European Linux movement and the LUGs taking
  part in it.

o Keep eachother informed about what's happening on a local and
national level (this will become more and more important now Europe
  is integrating ever more closely).

o Stimulate eachother to be more active in promoting Linux and
  organizing local events.

o Exchange ideas for LUG activities so the individual groups will be
more vibrant and never out of ideas.

o Maybe organize larger events together, visit eachother or do
exchange projects, work together on software packages...

o Let the European hacker/students get to know eachother and
have a good time at actual meetings like Linux-Kongress, SANE
  and similar events.

The most important way to achieve this is by means of mailing lists.
This is the forum of choice because everybody can participate in the
discussions and e-mail stimulates people to do so.

Another part of the show is the web page for the project, where
we can link to interesting things the different LUGs have. This
gives the local LUGs the possibility to show to the rest of the
world what exiting things they have done in their copious spare
time.

Currently we have 5 mailing lists:

eulug-action	Activities to do with your LUG
eulug-announce	Announcements of activities and projects
eulug-devel	Development list (for programmers and gurus)
eulug-help	Help list (for mere mortals)
eulug-misc	Other discussions, fun URLs and the latest news

Subscriptions are handled by:
		Majordomo@humbolt.geo.uu.nl
EULUG can be found on the web at:
