Barath and I have just released icecast, which is a MP3 audio broadcasting
system.  Along with the server (icecast) we have also provided iceplay, a
playlist streamer to allow you to stream pre-encoded MP3's to icecast, and
icedir, which implements directory services similar to yp.shoutcast.com.
The whole system aims to be shoutcast compliant by version 1.0, and as far
as we can tell, besides server redirection, everything is working well
with Shoutcast.  Oh yeah, it's GPLed.  :)
