What I'm about to say doesn't constitute an official statement, but it does reflect our current thinking. We don't want to support other than the Intel Linux port but we would like to see others port to and support other CPUs/ISAs for Linux. One way to explore the demand is to do an unsupported non-commercial port and then see how popular it is by looking at the number of downloads. This is of course what we did with Intel Linux. The person/organization doing the port has to be "known to us" for us to feel comfortable and has to sign a non-disclosure agreement. A port to Alpha Linux is underway and I'm in contact with two other people about possible PPC and ARM (Netwinder) ports. But don't expect anything anytime soon, and currently we've no idea who would take-on the responsibility of commercial releases on these or other Linux platforms. _______________,,,^..^,,,_______________ Eliot Miranda, ParcPlace Aspect, ObjectShare
