Practical Presentations

As this Python conference is part of a larger set of
conferences reaching many new to Python, we encourage
the submission of talks which present case studies of
how Python (and JPython) helped solve real tasks,
including discussions of what aspects of Python were
especially useful, and how others can profit from your
experience. Other possible topics include discussing how
Python is used in specific fields ("Python in Finance",
"Using JPython to test Java libraries"), using Python with
specific audiences ("Teaching Python to 10-year olds"), and
epiphanies ("Hi, I'm Tom, and I'm a Python addict.").

In short, we encourage submissions that highlight Python's
features and benefits. The program committee will select
those talks which together show the breadth and depth of Python.

What, How, and Where to Submit

Speakers should submit an abstract (250 words) and a
short bio. The abstract should describe what your talk
will be about, and be specific about problems, solutions,
and conclusions. The abstract will be used to evaluate
talks. All submissions will be held in confidence.

Each submission must include:

An initial page with the:

Complete title of the presentation

Name and affiliation of the speaker

Speaker's complete contact information including
phone, fax, email, postal address

An abstract as detailed above

A biographical sketch of the speaker

Abstracts and email inquiries should be sent
to mail to pythonabstracts@oreilly.com
