From: Christian Tismer <tismer@appliedbiometrics.com> Subject: Tutorial on COM - get at your Office Data Date: Sun, 07 Feb 99 20:17:13 GMT This is the first release of my COM tutorial which I held at the Seventh Python Conference. It has not been updated since then, but might be helpful as a head start for using COM and MS-Office. You can either download a zip file (700k) or the .ppt file itself (886k). Required: Office97 with Powerpoint. Highly recommended, if you didn't do so already: Install Office with all options on, especially the developer support. This gives you full Help info on VBA objects. The tutorial shows you how to switch forth and back between Python and Excel/Word/Access, to use its instant help (control-blank etc.) Netscape users: Netscape will ask you wether to save or start the file, if you have Powerpoint installed. MSIE users: Internet Explorer will give you the presentation in its window. http://starship.python.net/crew/pirx/spam7/ Comments are welcome - chris <P><A HREF="http://starship.python.net/crew/pirx/spam7/">COM Tutorial</A> - Windows COM Tutorial from IPC7 (as MS Powerpoint file).
