Sam Ockman's talk was quite successfully turned into a question and answer session. I briefly outlined where we are up to with fail-over mechanisms, heartbeat and the like. Stephen Tweedy talked about cluster based redundancy somewhat akin to what is found on VMS. The audience asked lots of interesting questions. On the fail-over (as opposed to clustering) side of this someone mentioned GFS - The Global File System (http://gfs.lcse.umn.edu/) which allows severless access devices on technologies such as fiber channel. In general there was quite a lot of interest in HA at the show though I have nothing in particular to report. -- Horms
