Subject: Development Update on ht://Dig

Hi again!

It's been a while since I sent in an update on ht://Dig. Here's some news:

After the successful release of 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 and the new contributed
section of the website <http://www.htdig.org/contrib/>, development is now
mostly focused on major new directions. Some effort will go into fixing
remaining bugs in a 3.1.2 release, but the last few weeks have seen a
significant amount of new code in the 3.2 source. Major directions include
changing the database backend to support phrase searching and allow for
parallel indexing and searching, and adding support for retrieving
documents through FTP, news, HTTP/1.1 and other protocols. Plans for a more
logical organization for the documentation are also beginning. Interested
