Subject: ANNC: GENERIC #07 kernel/server pair available

GENERIC #07 is now available. I've tagged the repository on the Mach
Kernel side, but not the vmlinux side. The 2.0.37 changes didn't make it
in because I haven't had a chance to boot a linux server with them. I'm
leaving town tomorrow and won't be back until Sunday, so send bug reports
to mklinux-bugs@globegate.utm.edu. I'm sure there will be a handful. :-)

Major changes: some contributed changes to IDE driver related to DMA and
the G3 machines in particular, also some fixes for IDE probe code, though
it's still not up to what it needs to be.... The Floppy driver still only
works on PCI machines, but x100's should cluck and act like they're
working, then just not work. Missing some DMA interrupt info, still. Oh
yeah, and the bug that caused the tulip driver to crash on some machines
at booting has been fixed. And finally, the changes for the on-board
video and Newer's upgrade cards are in place. And I forget whether left
bay floppies were supported in #06, but they're supported in #07. I've
attempted to fix left bay IDE on PowerBook G3 series machines as well, but
I don't know what the current status is, as I don't have such a drive.

The vmlinux server changed more than the Mach Kernel, really, but it's
entirely too late at night for me to try to remember all of the changes.
Good night, and enjoy.

They should be mirrored shortly on snoopy.diamond.org. I'll try to get
the ftp.mklinux.apple.com copy updated tomorrow morning if I think about
it, but in case I don't get around to it, if the date hasn't changed from
December, don't download it. ;-)

Later,
David
